Department / Division: Data Solutions and Analytics Department - Information Technology Division
Reports To: Department Manager
🌱 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide consultancy, recommendations, and implementation of database governance and operation models in compliance with corporate standards and State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) regulations.
- Monitor database performance, availability, and space utilization, and optimize queries and system resources.
- Establish and operate backup, restore, and disaster recovery (DR) mechanisms to ensure data safety and timely recovery.
- Administer access control, data encryption, and implement database security measures in accordance with internal policies and regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).
- Collaborate with development, integration, and data analytics teams to optimize database structure and performance.
- Operate and maintain database high-availability and replication mechanisms, including clustering, AlwaysOn, Data Guard, log shipping, and others.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including database architecture diagrams, recovery guides, maintenance procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in infrastructure deployment, data migration, and cloud migration projects as required.
🌱JOB REQUIREMENTS
I. Relevant Knowledge / Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or an equivalent field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) in large-scale systems, preferably in banking or financial environments with high transaction volumes.
- Proficient in at least one major Database Management System (DBMS) such as SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
- Strong understanding of database architecture, including indexing, partitioning, and normalization/denormalization techniques.
- Advanced SQL programming skills (T-SQL / PL-SQL) and experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Hands-on experience with database monitoring and performance tools such as Zabbix, Prometheus, SolarWinds, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), or Redgate.
- Preferably experienced with high availability (HA) configurations, DBA automation, and Cloud Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) platforms (e.g., Azure SQL, Amazon RDS, etc.).
II. Skill
- Strong incident troubleshooting and resolution skills, with the ability to make decisive actions under pressure.
- Effective teamwork and cross-functional collaboration with operations, application, and security teams.
- Willingness to work on shifts or provide after-hours/on-call support when incidents occur.
- Meticulous, security-conscious, and accurate in all production data operations.
III. Relevant Experience
- Professional certifications such as:
+ Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate
+ Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
+ PostgreSQL Professional Certification, MongoDB Associate
+ Experience working in 24/7 mission-critical systems with financial transactions or large-scale data environments.
- Knowledge of DevOps, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and tools such as Ansible, Terraform, etc., is an advantage.
IV. Required Competencies
- Proven hands-on experience in a Database Administrator (DBA) role.
- In-depth understanding of database architecture, with strong skills in advanced SQL and scripting.

I. Working Hours
Standard working hours: Monday – Friday (flexible start time: 8:00 / 8:30 / 9:00) and 2 Saturday mornings per month (8:00–12:00).
